We continue to reflect on Hearing from God in today’s Holy Nougat
.
“And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe.” Hebrews 1:2 NLT
Hearing from God: Through The Son
We established yesterday that God’s desire is to speak with us. And even as we recognize that it comes to fruition with our reciprocal desire, we acknowledged that our actions created a chasm (gap) between ourselves and God. That gap has stood in the way of our relationship with God, yet God opted to communicate with us via prophets.
Unfortunately, we have not always received the prophets or the prophetic in positive ways. Several prophets of old were forced into hiding, living like bandits because they spoke God’s Truth to leaders who were not open to hearing from God.
Despite that, God desired to speak to us, to restore us to life in fullness and grace. That’s where the Gospel message came in. For, God’s communication with us in the collective sense, has been better facilitated by humans. And since the separation occurred through human choice, grace needed to also be human. God became human and lived with us (see John 1).
It is worth noting that for the writer of Hebrews, Jesus’ arrival signaled the beginning of the End Times. Read like that, there’s an urgency to ensure that we secure our calling, election and salvation in Jesus Christ. We need to listen intently and intentionally, and we must strengthen our bond with Him.
Hearing from God requires that we know God’s voice. And that’s possible when we know God for ourselves. We begin by discovering Who Jesus is, so we have no doubt about Who we’re following. At the same time, we continue to immerse ourselves in God’s Word, cementing that relationship through the power of Gods Spirit.
May we do know Jesus that we recognize Him everywhere, especially in ourselves and others.

May all we seek be found in Christ
