They had been together for a while; he’s been teaching, performing miracles, being awesome. The rest … a motley bunch of handpicked protégés, who often missed the mark.
He goes off by himself, they follow. Tragedy strikes, and HE is totally oblivious. Blissfully asleep, definitely unconcerned.
After a while, they get frantic, seeking his intervention…
He replied,
‘You of little faith, why are you so afraid?’
Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. Mt 8:26
They KNEW Jesus. WE know Jesus. They had a relationship with him. We have a relationship with him. They KNEW what he was capable of. We KNOW what HE is capable of.
The were caught adrift after following him. Danger surrounded them. We are often caught adrift, especially when we follow him. Danger surrounds us.
When it got to be too much, they cried out in panic, questioning HIS love for them. When the tumult intensifies, we …
