Here’s today’s nougat, July 31 (yup, the month is done).
For you are God’s workmanship, created IN Christ Jesus FOR Good Works which God has already established for us to complete. Ephesians 2:10
I’ve reflected on this verse before. I KNOW this verse. It has been comfort and refuge for many a sojourner along the way. Especially in moments of feeling “less than”.
Its awesome to know that I’m a masterpiece. It’s even greater to know that my identity is secured in Christ Jesus.
But I can’t stop there.
For the verse itself goes beyond that. My secure identity is rooted in purpose. Positive purpose.
Now each of us has a different type of work for which we are commissioned (have been created in Christ Jesus to fulfill). Think of it like the mobile phone. They all provide quick access to others. But some are created with specific features and technologies. And, when a mobile is advertised as being created with android features, we are not maximising the potential by using it solely to send and receive calls.
So when the android fails to do what it professed to be qualified for, we are inclined to trade it in.
All of us are created to share God’s love the moment we receive it by faith through Christ’s death and resurrection.
BUT, the way that ought to be effected may vary. If we are not allowed to fulfill our purpose, then we just might be chomping at the bit, to be sent. But, if we are avoiding our purpose, then it may seem that … More anon. Are you fulfilling your divine purpose?
