Blessings my dears
The fourth ended with a spectacular display of fireworks, and I thought of the psalmist’s proclamation of the heavens displaying God’s glory. But as I watched the slightly time delayed video on my tablet, I was struck by something else.
Indeed, We are called to count the cost, for that beauty comes with a cost to the atmosphere, the flying creatures who are impacted by the noise and sound pollution, and even the soil where the dust settles. Hmmmm. I started thinking …
Here’s today’s reflective nougat.
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”
“,I don’t know”, he replied. “Am I my brothers keeper?”
The rivalry was fierce. Their games of one upmanship were legendary, despite the fact that they lived in the middle of nowhere. If one did, then obviously the other did NOT. Even when they were facing God, it was a problem… pretty soon, a man was dead. Dead. The game was not over, for one remained mad at God. And yet, even in his anger, he reasoned with God.
Wow!!!
What a brave man, moreso, what an awesome God!
Obviously, God does not treat us as our sins deserve, or repay us according to our iniquities (Psalm103:10). For, if that was the case, many of us would be in serious trouble.
And because we have access, we dare to step boldly, approaching the throne of grace (ie, the presence of the Lord) with the assurance that we may speak with God about everything. From firework displays to our own needs, to politics, to personal issues, and even our games of one upmanship.
Ready to talk, I guarantee that God is ready to listen.
