Blessed Fourth to you!
Wherever you are in the world, especially if outside of the land of your birth, I invite a counting of the cost. What did it take for Mr too be where I am at this moment … Lord, we thank you for the sacrifices…
Today’s nougat July 4th
Who shall ascend to the hills of the Lord, our who shall stand in his holy place? 24:3
I remember learning this psalm by rote, not really thinking about what the verse says? On the one breath, it is daunting, why should we even consider gaining access to the Holy of Holies? Isn’t it only accessible one per year to the high priest? However, the question begs an answer, which is in the verse following … ‘He that has a clean hand and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, not sworn deceitfully’ (Verse 4)
In my child’s understanding, there was finally room in the Hill. All it required was good hygiene.
And it is a valid theory; provided it is anchored by two critical premises …
A. Awareness that God really is in control (the GCT factor, inbox me if you don’t know the term),
B. Recognition that good spiritual hygiene for the Christian comes from continued washing under the Blood of Jesus, when we acknowledge that we have sinned … (for, if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us …)
Feeling up to a Hill climb to the Holy of Holies? As we count the cost, we thank God for how we got here.
Glory to God! Hallelujah!!!
Thank You Jesus.
