And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. Mark 2:4
Greetings. How did you come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ? Was it during routine church attendance; your having known of Christ all your days? Or was it one of those dramatic moments, such as mentioned above?
Essentially, it doesn’t really matter HOW we come into the knowledge of Christ, it is WHAT we do with the knowledge that matters.
Jesus was in town. He had just defied the powers with his work in Capernaum, and was in the pulpit preaching, and of course, where Jesus was there were miracles.
Obviously, there were four men who KNEW Jesus. They did not doubt his capabilities. They knew Jesus and the power of salvation. Like Andrew (Simon Peter’s brother), like that first evangelist (sitting across the village of her shame, “Come see a man”), these four men shared their knowledge with someone. Someone whose life was in dire need of transformation.
What have we done with our knowledge of Jesus Christ? Have we been agents of transformation, sharing what little we know then taking others to the source …
I wonder have I done my best for Jesus? Who died upon the cruel tree. When I think of his heart sacrifice at Calvary! I know my Lord expects the best from me.
How many are the lost I have lifted? How many are the chained I’ve helped to free? I wonder have I done my best for Jesus, when he has done so much for me.
