Greetings my dears,
May this be a day infused with favour with authority for that which you hold dear.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat ™
And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained favor and kindness in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. Esther 2:17 ASV
That must have been a really powerful moment. And yet, it could have also been humbling. To be selected as the favorite in what may have been the world’s first beauty pageant. Powerful. To realise you’ve been selected to replace the queen who stood up for her modesty and dignity … not so powerful. It might have put the fear of God in her heart.
Unless or until she realised that it was the Lord who granted favour WITH authority. Then, it’s humbling. Much like Mary saying who am I that God would select me to be the mother of the Messiah.
It’s helpful to note that when the Lord raises us up, the promotion also comes with the responsibility for others’ welfare. And that favour with authority may result in the liberation of another. Hence, the decisions made thereafter must be made with wisdom and care.
When the Lord raises us up, it might be helpful for us to invite God’s direction on how to manage that which we have received. For who knows, perhaps we’ve been chosen to be a mover and shaker on God’s behalf for such a time as this.
Thanks for joining in this Divine feast.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
