Greetings my dears
So much has been happening to and around us, we might even feel overwhelmed at times. Today we consider one approach to facing the enemy head on with godly coverage.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat ™
If they say to us, ‘Stay where you are or we’ll kill you,’ then we will stop and not go up to them. But if they say, ‘Come on up and fight,’ then we will go up. That will be the Lord ’s sign that he will help us defeat them.” 1 Samuel 14:9-10 NLT
They dared to enter enemy territory, and they sought God’s direction on how to trounce the enemy. With God’s permission, they faced the enemy. But before taking the battle directly to the enemy, Jonathan and his servant asked the Lord for a clear sign that they should attack.
Sometimes, in our war with the enemy of our souls we have to go on the offensive. In those cases we determine that the enemy does not have the final say over our lives. Then, (perhaps with knocking knees,) we ask the Lord guidance on the battle plan, remembering that we don’t fight spiritual battles with earthly ammunition.
We use supernatural warheads to demolish spiritual strongholds. Strongholds such as Fear, Envy, Self-pity, Self-doubt, Incompetence, and Lack of self control. Then, with God’s permission and direction we ensure that not even a tiny vestige of a stronghold is left. We use the old Hebrew battle tactic of burning every item that would defile, no matter how ‘beautiful’, and dedicate everything else (especially ourselves) to the Lord.
In this way, should the enemy seek to rise further forces and attack, it is God that has to be contended with. Furthermore, if a chance “friend” returns with 7 other weary demons seeking accommodation; being under God’s coverage secures us from being captured unawares.
In summary
- Seek God’s direction on when and how to confront the enemy
- Ask the Lord for confirmation that the battle strategy is sure
- Rout the enemy in totality and destroy anything that defiles God’s Word
- Place ourselves totally under God’s coverage to protect oneself against ambush or counterattack
- Give all the glory to God
- Remenber … The battle is not ours, is the Lord’s
