Hello, hello, HELLO!!!!
TGIF – Today’s goal is Faith!
We’ve looked a bot at faith for the past few days, and yet we have not even approached the surface of the issue. For faith is not only about confession, but it is about believing in word and deed by applying what we say we believe.
Here’s today’s nougat
[Jesus] replied, “If you have faith that is even the size of A grain of a mustard seed, you might say to this mulberry tree, “Be plucked up by the roots and be planted in the middle of the sea”[/ocean] and it will obey you. Lk 17:6
They asked a very simple question – Lord, please show us how to do what you do (trans. Increase our faith). As always, his response was much more profound. He had already chastised them about their weak faith and seems to be providing a formula for faith that would be “at their level”. A mustard seed is a somewhat similar sized seed to guava or papaya. It is tiny. If that much faith provides us with enough power to shape our own history, how much more so when we begin to really grow in the faith?
Today, let us each opt to exercise our faith, no matter how great, so that the trees in our lives (and family, and friends) may be carried away into the midst of the sea. Lord, increase our faith, and may we see results when we practice moving our mountains.
