Life sometimes gets overwhelming. What do the spiritually wise do in those times? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.” Luke 10:40 ASV
I’ve done it before; personally undertake a task, neglected to consult with others, and then felt resentful that I’m left alone with it. I’ve also divided the work and when implementation comes round, no one surfaces.
Wrong. They are just wrong to do that.
How would you have responded?
Martha went to Jesus. She was comfortable enough in their friendship to make a complaint/comment without worrying about hurting His feelings. She knew that no matter what she sought, she would get audience with Jesus and He would hear her.
When we are ‘cumbered about’, to Whom do we turn? How confident are we in our friendship with Jesus? Are we assured that no matter the situation, we have audience with Jesus? Do we find comfort in the knowledge that Jesus listens when we speak?
May the Spirit of God offer solace in all phases of our lives.
