Hello dear
I pray your day is good. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat
“The word of ADONAI came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I set you apart— I appointed you prophet to the nations.”” Jeremiah 1:4-5 TLV
Many of us are familiar with this text, but don’t have a clear sense of our calling in Christ. What are we here for, what has God set out for us to be and do? And are we accomplishing it?
Inasmuch as the saying suggests that we connect with folks for reasons, seasons and lifetimes, I believe that we have multiple roles assigned us by God. Using the analogy, we can try to discern our greater purpose (God’s big plan, lifetime goals etc). However, we also have shorter term missions – for a season in our lives – and it might not look exactly look like the bigger plan. Our reason-al purpose can be momentary, seasonal or long term. That’s partly because reason can often be interchanged with purpose.
Let’s expand this a bit to consider Jesus’ life as a 12 year old. In the mind of his earthly parents, while they had a general sense of his purpose, their were smaller reasons and seasons prior to living out His Lifetree Purpose.
So Joseph was told that Jesus came to save us from our sins. That was Jesus’ overarching purpose. Operatively, Jesus walked in that purpose before His incarnation. On arrival, He impacted shepherds, astrologers, a widow and a priest. And made at least one ruler very uncomfortable. Age 12, in that Season, He also was in the temple impacting the priests and teachers of the Law, so much so, He was left behind. But Jesus’ story didn’t end there. Nor did it end at Calvary. Jesus’ purpose lives in each of us and awaits some others who’ve not yet believed.
We are NOT Jesus, tho we strive to be LIKE Him. So do we know our reason and are we working IN purpose for this season? May we find the answers in a timely manner.
God bless you
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
