Hello dear
Today’s Holy Nougat invites a paradigm shift for some of us, and perhaps even some soul searching.
“But he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!”” Revelation 22:9 NLT
The angel had accompanied John for the duration of the epic vision received on the isle of Patmos. Explaining, clarifying, encouraging and dispelling doubts/fears along the way. John was eternally grateful, and rightly so. He bowed in recognition of his gratitude and in deference to the supernatural.
Not necessary.
Deferential worship is due only to God Who shares glory with no other. Not even Gabriel or Michael, the more reknowned archangels in the Bible. Not even with the pastor who christened/baptized us, or the seer/prophet who clarified God’s plans for our lives. For we are servants of God, not the Creator.
This is contradictory to the attitudes and actions of some of us in formal ministry, as some of us have been socialized to accept fan club behavior as normative. It isn’t. It’s not due to secular artists, political/community leaders or others who have positively impacted us.
Nope
Worshipful behavior, reverence and deference is only due the Almighty. And one great way to demonstrate our worship is to obey God’s direction; in words, action and even our thought life. Not always easily done, but definitely worth it. Time for the spirit exam eh, to ensure that our worship is only channeled to God. And if not, it’s not too late to call on God for forgiveness and change our ways.
For those of us who make it to 2019, we may wish to ensure that our lives are in total praise; always. Let’s make this our priority resolution.
Good morning
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
