Hey

You know, with slavery in the Negro past, the tiresome problem of paternity has become thematic in our culture. In the non Negro context, it is not necessarily as openly addressed, although recent studies seem to be suggesting that it is just as real.

Some folks argue that DNA (aka Dana, D&A) can’t lie. And perhaps rightly so. Now if DNA can’t lie; what does that mean for ya who are called the children of God?

Curious, consider today’s Holy Nougat

“who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:13 ASV

Being born of God is a big deal. For, it means God’s DNA now flows through us. We are NOT God, but we are OF God. Subsequently, there ought to be some God-features, God-mannerisms and God-traits stamped on us in such powerful ways that others ought to notice.

Hopefully the recommendations below might help:

Philippians 4:4,7-8 offers some traits we ought to use as a checklist (and since the chapter began with Paul attempting to calm those two women, we also have a sense of when to ensure our traits show).

Galatians 5:16, 22-3, 25 speak of the mannerisms which show whose side of the family we’re from. Most of all, we receive the assurance that the Holy Spirit gives us all the support we need to make it so, if we’re interested.

So what does our life tell others about our birth? Flesh or Spirit?

Today please Lord, no matter the circumstances, let it be Spirit, Your Spirit Almighty God!

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
