Good morning.

I’m still doubling up. Let me know if you only wish to receive your message here.

Today’s reflection May 17

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Ps 34:1

At ALL times? That’s a serious commitment. And not always as easy to realize. But what if we asked God to teach us how to bless always, to be in praise mode at all times?

Here’s two thoughts for consideration. A friend had a worship event, and lost her purse. Her entire life was in the purse, so she would have to close and alert and, and, and, and …

She did as much as she could, then went to participate in the event. The event was a godly success. The purse was still lost.

She went to bed asking God for intervention yet again. The purse reappeared in tact. God is awesome. Please bless the Lord with me!

After an evening of barbecuing with my roommate and some international students, I showered most of the smoke off me and went to sleep. Unlike many other days, I want entirely certain what text would be the source of today’s reflection. I drifted of to sleep asking the Lord once again for guidance. At 6:18am, the sound of one phrase woke me up. “Praise the Lord.” You see, I was running late, plus God was guiding me right then and there.

Sometimes, the battle is fought in our subconscious, and we have to bless God even in our sleep.

Praising God lifts our spirits and often takes us out of the doldrums. Praising God puts the enemy to flight, so often he tries to rob us of our ability (rather our desire) to praise God. Remember that praising God was part of the battle strategy utilised by the Hebrews when going over into the Promised Land?

Praising God reminds us who is in control, and hopefully guides us to allow God to be God.

Praising God helps us look beyond the now of our problem to the added then of God’s solution.

Praising God tells God that we understand the first commandment and are willing to put it in practice

Praising God … (can you add any other)

Let everyone who had been blessed, praise the Lord.

Can I get a witness please somebody
