Good day to You. Hope you’re starting this new week in agreat frame pc mind.
Today’s nougat
May 18th
I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise will continually be in my mouth. Ps 34:1
After posting yesterday’s reflection, I was visited with another thought. In the Hebrew tradition, blessing was often accompanied by action. In fact, one root word for blessing includes kneeling… What if blessing God at all times involved our actions? So we wouldn’t all be walking around with dry myths from continuous praise but our actions would also talk.
For me, it means examining my life to ensure that whatever I do pleases God at all times. That might be more doable.
In Corinthians we are exhorted to do all to God’s glory, whether in speech or action. Could that be the sweet favor of our praise? Cain was un-Abel to praise God with his actions, and it cost him. Big time.
Blessing God also protects our minds and keeps us out of harm’s way. (Devil finds work for idle hands). How about it, keys bless the Lord with our actions.
Lord Jesus, I woke up today and my mind is still in order. Thank You. Today I choose to bless You with my actions. Please show me what pleases You most. Help me to live for You at all times. You complete me and add so much more to my life. Please Lord, May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart (and the actions in my life) be acceptable in thy sight o Lord, for You are my Strength and my Defense. Amen
