Funny eh, we know the Holy Spirit to be “Wind”, the very ‘breath’ (ruach) of God, yet when Elijah needed to hear from God live and direct, God was not in the wind.
God was present with the Israelites as Fire in their wilderness wanderings, yet when Elijah sought God, God was not present in the fire.
In the midst of the color of his heart, God reached out to Elijah in
STILLNESS.
The quiet whisper that reminds us, ‘be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here. . .’
The still voice that creates order amidst the chaotic moments of our lives.
The Holy Spirit isn’t obliged to do what was done before but rest assured when we seek God, God will be found, when we seek with our entire heart.
