Howdy do dear
Several years ago I was in the USA and shopping at one of the SuperWalmarts. When we finished shopping, we packed our purchases in the car and drove off. I had scarcely left the parking lot on to the main road before being pulled over by the police. Knowing I had done no wrong, I calmly stopped and waited.
Just as the policeman approached me, I realized Why I had been stopped. My lights were off! Quickly I turned them on, but determined to wait on the police. He greeted me and said something to the effect of me opting to put the lights on at that time. I noted that the parking lot was flooded with light to the extent that I didn’t notice my lights were off. He agreed that it was bright and let me go.
Today’s Holy Nougat brings this memory back.
“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.” Ephesians 1:18 NLT
Can you imagine our hearts being so lit by God’s Spirit that others are drawn by the Light?! Or being so lit that anything being done in our presence is inundated by the Spirit of God?
My dears, we are living in a season of spiritual ‘and suddenlies’. And ‘and suddenly’ requires that we are wholly dependent on God for readiness in the moment. Those are especially the times that require our hearts being lit like the Walmart lights. Because whether we feel equipped for the ‘and suddenly’ or not, God’s light will engage hope within us that we can do what God calls us to. And these times call for this type of equipping.
I pray Christ dwells within us today such that we are open to act in the ‘and suddenly’ moments we face. May God’s light burn brightly so that our hearts are filled with confidence in Christ.
Grace and peace my dears
Shalom and salaam
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
