Good morning dear
I hope that this series has been helpful to us all, and we find ourselves chewing slowly on some of the nougats and reflections. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat
“Now Yeshua was praying in a certain place. When He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Master, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.””
Luke 11:1 TLV
Someone l once wrote that it is not that the disciples didn’t ever pray prior to meeting Jesus. Rather, they could see the difference Jesus’ prayer made in terms of impact . Having seen, they desired it for themselves. They wanted to pray the ‘Jesus Way’.
And the disciples’ request is very valid – they wanted what Jesus had. They probably realized that prayer is Key to tapping into God’s limitless power, provision and purpose. Power, for Jesus promises that prayer unlocks the right to transform lives to the glory of God. Through prayer we also have access to God’s bounty, being equipped in ways that aren’t as effective without an abiding relationship with Jesus. And, as our relationship deepens, we walk into the fullness of God’s plans for our lives. We may even find ourselves transformed by the deeper connection with God along the way. Especially when we begin yielding to God’s Spirit.
Little by little, other lives will be impacted by our ongoing interactions with God. As a good friend often reminds me; we ought to all be living testimonies of God, to the extent that they also desire to be transformed. For when our lives reflect Christ (lifts Him up); God’s glory is revealed and others will seek to know Christ for themselves. And that’s our ultimate goal – deepened relationship with God; and spreading the Good news of that relationship.
I pray we can sense a difference in our relationship with God when our prayer life is on point, and that others can also see a difference in us. Lord, teach us how to pray.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
