Hi
Over the weekend I was blessed with the opportunity to share my views on prayer. It was not planned, and some questions were very profound. At the end of the time we had agreed that to deepen our relationship with God, prayer is KEY. And within the joint reflections, there was the understanding that prayer is personal. Consider today’s Holy Nougat as the continuation of those premises.
“Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:8 TLV
Let me clarify, or rather qualify, this reflection that operatively this nougat refers to the prior nougats on being seen and heard as well as the vain mumblings. Buuuuuut
MANY of us can relate to fact that it could also be speaking directly to us. For, unfortunately, many people have bought into the lie that says we must sound like someone else when we pray.
So what’s up with that, really? Is it that we feel our ‘simple’ prayers don’t qualify for divine intervention? Or we figure that since certain persons’ prayers seem to have billboard status, garnering recognition and impact on earth and in Heaven.
Could it be that when we attempt to pray like others, we have left the act of prayer and are instead, ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’?
Although we may have siblings, may even be part of a set of twins or triplets, the fact remains that we are each our own individual selves. And attempting to pray like anyone other than ourselves denies us of the opportunity to see our true prayer potential. And since prayer is about OUR personal relationship WITH God, then going to God with our authentic selves must be our priority.
My dear, the multiple prayers of Jesus recorded by the Gospel writers suggests that communication with God is KEY for every single believer. Let’s press forward in deepening our relationship.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
