We continue our reflection on Advent’s Peace with today’s Holy Nougat
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.” Galatians 4:4-5 NIV
In yesterday’s reflection, we noted high points of Jesus’ ministry as The Prince of Peace. Now our nougat invites us to recognize that it’s truly all about God’s timing. And God’s been established as The Ruler of Time since Creation. So we see God’s divine order in what is created when – it’s precisely according to plan. And even when humanity added kinks to God’s plan, God’s Plan J was already in place.
In Romans we are told: ‘Through one man sin entered the world …’ in reference to Adam, and it seems Eve’s actions remains unaddressed. Our Nougat suggests that in God’s plan, though one woman made an independent decision that resulted in our ‘enmity with God’; God’s grace allowed another woman to make an independent decision that effected redemption through One Savior, Jesus Christ. Again, all God’s timing and grace. Each dependent on the other; that’s Peaceful coexistence.
You see siblings, each of us is accounted for in God’s plan! Our lives are not at all accidental, and we each have purpose. We have direct roles, and complementary ones, because of God’s grace through Jesus Christ. And when we get to the fullness of time, we will take our rightful place as heirs to all God’s prepared for us.
Until then, we align ourselves with God’s Spirit, waiting for the moment and allowing God’s Peace to sustain us through it all.
