Finally. It’s Saturday! For many of us, another work week done; for others it’s the Sabbath in fullness and for the rest … it’s just another day. One thing that is certain, the Lord has already apportioned the day and its activities. However we view it, let’s savour today’s Holy Nougat™ together
“From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.”
Isaiah 43:13 NLT
Have you ever considered how long an eon or eternity lasts for? As a child, this was the time it took from promise to fulfilment, or from one holiday/celebration to the next. As a teenager, it was the time it took from the appearance of a blackhead to its removal. As an adult, eternity varies from situation to situation. For God, eternity is forever … beyond the 12th of never; and that’s a long long time.
When God assures us therefore, that throughout eternity God’s nature and character remains constant; we are assured that this takes us from one promise to the next, through one blackhead to the next, beyond each and every situation which besets us.
It is because of that steadfastness we have the confidence to accept our status as heirs of God’s promises. And God has promised never to forsake us, never to lose hold of us, never to be bested by the enemy for any aspect of our lives.
So, do we believe what God has promised? How do we measure eternity?
