So Lord,
In the aftershocks of xenophobia, Brexit and Turkey, how do we receive this nougat? What do we savour, What do we spit out? When do we rise? And how?
Whose God: Christians or Jews or Muslims; Palestinian; Africans or E Indians; White, Black or Coloured?
Which foreigners, when our fathers were pilgrims/wandering Arameans called by your name?
Which land, when it was earned at the expense of many lives?
Do we dare take a look-see, claiming our inheritance? Or was it solely for them folks long ago?
How do we claim the promise? How do we discern your will in perilous times? Have mercy, guide and direct we pray, in Jesus’s name amen.
