Greetings
In Jamaica, there is a term used to describe inheritance, it’s ‘dead lef’. ie. That which the deceased has left for the survivors. Although the term is a bit indelicate, it captures the Christian’s state of affairs thanks to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today’s Holy Nougat is somewhere prophetic, as it precedes Jesus’ earthly ministry. Its message remains potent and substantive for us
“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness which is of me, saith Jehovah.” Isaiah 54:17 ASV
The joy of the inheritance (heritage) offered by the Lord is that it’s for the here and now, this one doesn’t require probates, legal intervention or even entry into heaven.
One aspect of our spiritual inheritance is power to subdue the enemy. In fact, Romans 8:38-9 indicates that through Christ, we are More Than conquerors! The storm shall rage and the tempest shall roar, but we have an ineritance which, when cashed overthrows the enemy and destroys the weapons! Let’s use our inheritance.
And, when folks scoff, judge or speak ill against us; we have the inherited authority to cancel the spoken word. Rather than accept the lies and negativities spoken into/over our lives and circumstances, let us choose to take authority over the spoken word by declaring God’s promises and condemning the lie.
Today I invite us to fight fire with Holy Spirit consuming Fire as per our heritage as servants of Jehovah.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
