Hi
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Then they cried out to the Lord, Jonah’s God. “O Lord,” they pleaded, “don’t make us die for this man’s sin. And don’t hold us responsible for his death. O Lord, you have sent this storm upon him for your own good reasons.”” Jonah 1:14 NLT
Sometimes in the heat of battle, things go wrong and we lose a colleague along the way. This was not the case outlined above.
Nope.
Jonah quit on his own (I guess we could say he was AWOL) and that decision almost cost the lives of others. For me, there are two major considerations embedded here.
Rarely do we fight alone. In the natural, that is. Our war tactics therefore should encompass more than just our own issues and contexts (even if it’s helping another to overcome later).
Sometimes however, we are compelled to let go. And it is in those moments that we ought to ensure that moving on is not to our detriment. Ultimately we are not at war with individuals. And subsequently, we ought to preserve relationships as much as possible. When we’ve done all we can; we seek God’s direction before letting go.
May our ears be attuned to God’s direction.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
