Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.” Psalms 36:9 NLT
One of the things most of creation have in common is the need for water and light. For the plant world, with those two things, they flourish. Understanding God therefore as the fountain of life is critical for the believer’s self understanding. Our spirits may be parched and flagging, in desperate need of the Source.
If the human body needs approximately 8 cups of water per day to flourish; how many doses/servings of God’s Living Water would our spirits require? Have we topped up recently?
Not many of us have excellent night vision on our own. We may train our senses or utilize fancy equipment and state of the art technology to aid us; but ultimately we need light of some kind to aid the vision process. Additionally, sunlight provides much-needed vitamins which stimulate growth and encourages strong bones while increasing our immunity against some viruses. Isn’t it awesome that we also need the Son’s light to aid our vision, stimulate spiritual growth, strengthen our faith AND ward off sin’s allure!
Might I encourage us to spend some time soaking in the Son today.
