Hello
Congratulations! We made it to the end of the second decade of the new millennium! Despite all the ups and downs. That was only possible with God’s presence, provision and protection – as stated in today’s Holy Nougat
“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.””
Deuteronomy 31:8 NRSV
How was your year 2019?
More critically, how will 2020 be?
In reflecting on a season of life, I described it as a Rough one – and it was. I can still recall the pain and uncertainty that overshadowed almost every aspect of it.
Sometimes I cried out to God. Other times I internalized my concerns and hurt; failing to recall that God was with me, before me and within me. Naturally, I succumbed to fear, and even more naturally; things did not go as I’d have liked.
The problem was, when I went internal, and tried to re/solve on my own and things backfired; I was even LESS inclined to seek God’s guidance and support. But, that’s actually the best time to cry out, the best time to seek God’s face. When it’s not going. For if we get too much in the habit of ignoring the God Who is with us, we lose sight of God our Refuge. And our faith is grounded in recognition of God’s presence with us.
Today, we are invited to forego the anxiety, hurt and fears which assault us, and focus on The One Who has full understanding of what we are undergoing. For God has already been to the end of that which ails us. More importantly for our peace of mind, even while we’re trying a thing, God journeys alongside us, waiting to be comfort and wisdom in our seasons of dis-ease.
Armed with that knowledge, our fears can be overcome, for in God and with God, it is well.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
