Grace and peace to you
The dust has settled, the mud is drying, and whether folks are ready or not, a new day has dawned in the USA. It has been a new day for many elsewhere in the world who grapple with the aftershocks of political instability in their countries of origin, who are seeking a new normal in the wake of murder, civil unrest, religious foment, relocation to new countries as refugees and migrants, or even trying to cope with the spectre of terminal diseases.
In such spaces, we seek grounding to respond to others’ (or even our own) New Normal. We seek guidance for the word which makes sense thereof.
Might I recommend to us today’s Holy Nougatâ„¢
The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 ASV
One gains wisdom to speak or be silent by taking stock of God and God’s purpose in the business of life. I am drawn to the analogy of a business which is backed by a wealthy investor. Although the investor may seem to be disinterested and uninvolved, s/he genuinely expects updates and reports and may even extend to include advice on occasion.
God is our wealthy investor. Versed in the nuances of all of our business – mental, social, emotional, physical, financial and spiritual … to name a few. Inasmuch as we would ‘fear’ and respect the acuity of our bosses, seeking to know how their minds operate; let us gain the Ultimate wisdom and knowledge from God, through the saving grace of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Thanks for feasting with me on the Word.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
