Hello
Yesterday I attended a function to honour youth of excellence. While there, we paused to observe the deaths of students and educators. I later heard of friends who are unwell or are also in a season of mourning. How do we respond to the finality of life?
Here’s today’s nougat
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5.10
Today’s nougat suggests that suffering is a very real aspect of the human existence. And it is not limited solely to non Christians or those whose parents had committed some grave sin. However, the nougat does indicate that suffering within the context of the Christian’s life has a limited lifespan.
Like Peter, I pray that those who suffer might find grace, strength and restoration in Jesus Christ. May you also be confirmed and established in his blood. For those of us who cannot find words of comfort, let this be our guide.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
