When last have you experienced the hand of God at work in your life? And did you realize that it was God? How did you respond? I’m thankful that God is still committed to working for, with, and through us to realise God’s will in our lives. Consider Today’s Holy Nougat™️

Mark 16:4 NIV

[4] But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.

The Mighty Hand of God

How would you respond to this? One minute, you’re wondering how the stone (obstacle in your life) will be moved, and almost before you’re done speaking, you realize that the stone has been rolled away. That’s our God for you, siblings. We serve a God Who specialises in making possible what everyone else knows is impossible.

I know of barren couples in our time who conceived naturally when God intervened. And yes, you might wonder why the wait … all in God’s timing I’ve learned, all in God’s timing. I also met someone who asked God’s protection from the rain as she had no umbrella with her. Right then and there, God allowed her to walk between raindrops. Literally. And a young man who thought the time was scorching, and simply said, Lord, I’d love some rain right now, and it rained. All these are people who live and breathe in our time and are still alive now.

Yes, it’s somewhat different from a stone rolled away from the mouth of a sepulchre. But those are reminders to us that God is still in the miracle business. The very fact that we’re breathing freely with limited worries about infection bears witness to God’s Godness. I challenge each of us right now to recall an instant when God moved an obstacle miraculously from our path.

It may not have been as intense as removing a stone so that you can embalm a dead body. But truthfully, inky the person who needs a miracle can grasp the intensity of God’s intervention. Nor can we determine the timing. We may recall that at the Annunciation, God declared that with God, all things are possible. That is the God we serve.

Having called our stone-rolling experiences back to our present, I wonder how many of them actually involved us petitioning God’s Throne for long periods. It may have been years of petitions or a mighty move of God’s Spirit in a one-off situation. It might even have been more about God’s glory revealed for someone else’s salvation. But, in our recall, I pray we saw the hand of God.

May we find stones being removed from our paths supernaturally, without our input, but in ways that we can recognize the hand of God at work.

May all we seek be found in Christ
