As we journey through life’s ups and downs, I pray today’s Holy Nougat will encouraged us
“Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.” John 1:48 ASV
Nathanael was not being rude; he was just trying to discern the Source of Jesus’ knowledge. For, Jesus’ initial greeting seemed to have come from a place of great familiarity – yet Nathanael had not yet experienced a formal intimate relationship with Jesus. No, and so having little proof of Jesus’ deity; Nathanael demanded more.
Jesus’ response is also noteworthy. Rather than reprimanding or exposing Nathanael, Jesus established himself and allowed the facts to speak. And the facts spoke.
On Friday, I was under a fig tree. And though we have already established our relationship, I needed to know that He saw me and was with me right there. Moreover, Jesus was there with the rest of my family under their own fig tree experience.
Perhaps you are undergoing and are still waiting for the overcoming in hospital. Be reminded that Jesus is right there with you, whether you know Him or not. But first, let’s acknowwledge Christ.
