Sometimes when life is going off-kilter it’s time to look around. For God often meets us where we least expect. See what happens in today’s Holy Nougat
“Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.”” John 4:7 NLT
She was in her own wilderness. Right there on the outskirts of every one else. Totally unconscious that she had been seen by the One Who was a Game Changer. She was only there to draw water and avoid the crowds, the whispers, the sense of accusations. Completely unaware of her value, purpose or call on her life. She NEEDED change.
Little did she know that right there on the back side of her wilderness, on the social outskirts of town; she was about to have a burning bush experience. (You know it – the bush was on fire but not consumed. That is, an encounter with God where God initiates with the inconceivable). A bush cannot be on fire and not burn! A Jew does not initiate conversation with a gentile, least of all one who was in the wrong place at the wrong time!
But like Moses, God KNEW where she was. And like Moses, God met her where she was, as she was, despite who she and everyone else thought she was. She was at the Right place and God’s timing is always right (regardless of our opinion on such).
Are you perceived to be in the wrong place at this time? Do you feel unloved, unwanted, or undesired? Have you been operating at less than in order to ensure that those who are around you remain comfortable? Could God be meeting you at your Burning Bush?
