Hi
Our Shepherd also deals with burnout. We will start thinking it through with today’s Holy Nougat However, there’s also a challenge for us to consider
“He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.” Psalms 23:3 NLT
I was done. Flat out tired; physically, mentally, and emotionally. Could hardly budge, but there was enough strength to sigh. To be honest; I’m not sure if cried out to God. What I do know is that when I had nothing left (and could no longer rely on my own strength), God sure nuff showed up and turned things around! Not once; but time and time again.
Sometimes in the restoration process, God’s emissary looked a lot human. Even like folks I know. And that tells me that if God CHOOSES to mobilize us humans from time to time for supporting (restoring their souls); then perhaps we should be open for such opportunities.
I agree – we’re not God. But that breath of loving kindness is part of our spiritual DNA And oftentimes, God has nudged us, although we might have played deaf or dead. What if those others had taken a Jonah stance in our individual situations of brokenness? Who has been going through a rough patch and needs the reviving touch of the Shepherd? Could a prayer or act of kindness help? Let’s remember also that that act of sustenance is for God’s glory, not our vainglory.
Could God be sending one of us to restore another soul today?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
