Gmorning
We continue to reflect on psalm 23 with today’s Holy Nougat
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2 NLT
WOW
Sounds too good to be true! And there is a saying that if it sounds too good to be true; it usually is!!! Except many people have proven that this is the real deal. Some would say Emmanuel (God with us); others say El Rohi (God Who sees us); and yet others would say Adonai (Self-Sufficient, eternal One); one common denominator is the experience of God’s presence in their midst. Usually more tangibly experienced in crisis.
But what about us – how have we experienced God in floods, raging rivers, and/or fires of oppression? How did we know it was God? Did the experience a) draw us closer to God and b) incline us to share with others?
God does not renege on promises. And as Shepherd; God’s desire is to keep all the sheep – at almost all cost. We are those sheep (see psalm 100). Could it be time to overcome the fears and trust our Shepherd to see us through?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
