Greetings my dears

Thanks for sharing your lives with me yesterday. I am appreciative of your responses. And while I did not respond personally to each message I did pray for each issue or petition that came my way. May each of us be met at our point of need!

That being said, grab some coffee and an attitude of prayer; for today’s Holy Nougat and the reflection might require some heavy chewing.

“For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.” Isaiah 48:9 ASV

I remember the last time I was angry like it was yesterday. It was not a great moment on some levels; though I remember patting myself on the shoulder for managing to contain my fury. I was justified, or so I thought, for a wrong was being committed against me!

The recipient of my channeled anger did not agree. Some of my friends did, so I was good. Right? Right Lord? No you are not right was the sensation I felt like I was hearing. (Ironically, I don’tn ‘hear’ God’s voice directly that time. I wonder if I was too angry to hear).

I have often thought about that incident. And it still incites me to anger. In recounting, I recognize that I had wisely asked for divine intervention in the situation. Yet, my anger left a mark on the recipient, and also the relationship. I still feel that I was restrained; but if I compare against God’s standards rather than my old ‘flesh’ response, would the glory go Godward?

How about you? When was the last time you got angry? Was it justifiable? By whose standards?!

As God’s children desirous of imitating God; how we process our anger matters. If our God defers anger for preservation of God’s name, so ought we. It’s not always easy. And it might result in some of us being perceived as weak. Or giving God a bad rep.
