How was this past week with the Lord? Smooth sailing or a reminder that we are dependent on God for everything?
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord…They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit. — Jeremiah 17:7-8
Can we hear echoes of Jesus’s parable on the sower? In this instance, the soil is impacted by our trust and affects the quality of our leaves and root system. So, our Faith affects our spiritual growth and also our witness.
Where then, have we been planted?
What is the quality of our roots and leaves?
Prayer, Bible study, interaction with other Christians, and an openness to God’s Spirit are but some critical nutrients for the health of the relationship.
Is it time to reestablish our Faith in God before the droughts begin, or is it already the dry season?
