Hello
Blessings to you today. I trust that you have been walking according to God’s purpose for you.
Here’s today’s nougat
For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory. Luke 11:4b
Did you realize that several versions of the bible don’t include this bit of the prayer? I find that to be disconcerting. For it would suggest that these words were added later and “normalized”; or there are those who find this apex of The Prayer irrelevant.
Now I’m well aware that there are those who are as diligent as the wise men who have dedicated years, not to the following of a star; but to finding “the historian Jesus”.
For them, their belief in Jesus necessitates them researching the gospels to separate truth from fiction in defence of Christianity. There are days when I get it – their work affords some scholarly details which make for good supplemental study material. But I guess like many other Christians, for me Christ’s historicity is a matter of faith.
It is the very same faith which insists that I asset boldly, “Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory. Forever.” Yes, it IS a matter of faith. Because, at the end of it all; I believe in God’s eternal reign.
What about you?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
