Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1 NLT
Living in sheltered places? Really! For whether it’s secret place or shelter; it surely adds up to the same thing – vulnerability and dependence on others. And You see what that profited me the last time!
Disappointment and heartache.
Nope.
Not going down that road once again. Not at all. Plus most successful people talk about self sufficiency and resilience. And that’s working for them.
* Really. You are confident that it works.
Well it seems to.
* Looks are some times deceiving. Just because someone looks okay doesn’t categorically mean it is. Think about the façade you’ve been wearing lately. Are you okay? Your comment earlier says that you’re not. Is that what the world sees? Most folks see you and think … ‘Success!’ ‘Got it together.’ ‘Independent.’
And you ARE ALL that.
How many people see your vulnerability? The worries that go ‘boo’ in the night? The real issues which bring you to the Secret Place ready for us to work together?
In fact, let’s talk about the Secret Place-Shelter some more.
At its heart, this psalm is My promise to all of you.
I KNOW what danger you each face daily. I know what challenges you can handle and the ones you for which you need full time accompaniment if you are to succeed. If you are to survive.
When you enter My Secret Place, you have made a decision to be under My care. It means that usually you are resisting the urge to direct your life. And that you have placed total faith in me. I know you in particular prefer Secret Place to Shelter.
A Secret Place is one that no one else knows or has access to. Usually it is a space of retreat, where one might visit to be recharged. It’s also a protective and creative space. Can you find that in me? In my presence?
A Shelter may sometimes be a widely known place. Where provision is made to accommodate persons in crisis. It is built to withstand disaster or arrows or pestilence. For some, it’s even protection from familiar troubles.
I AM that and more.
For, the moment when you seek refuge in Me, I’m at your disposal. You have unlimited access to me.
Whenever you choose to call. And that’s not cowardly on your part. That’s self protection. From the arrow by day, the terrors you face within and without.
I’m always here.
In Your Secret Place
Offering total sanctuary.
To you privately and collectively.
Just come.
