Hello
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Revelation 3:20 NLT
When did you hear it – that faint, though distinct rhythm at your heart’s door? Did you respond? Were you concerned about the state of your residence for your guest to be entertained? What about when the guest INSISTED on decluttering, cobwebbing, doing laundry and basically cleaning up after you, if you were willing?
Did you cringe upon memory of the bits of junk, debris and clutter laying around? Or was the junk, debris and clutter stuffed into an airtight room/container, and hastily moved out of sight? (Funny how much it proved to be and how unwilling we are to get rid of it.)
What did you talk about? Politics? The weather? Those hypocritical church folks who really think you should conform to their standards? Or, were you actually having a REAL heart to heart conversation about your issues (good and bad) and your guest’s hopes and dreams? How’d the conversation affect you? Can you feel any changes beginning to occur?
Did you even notice what you had to eat, or were you so deeply engaged in conversation that you didn’t care? What’s the nature of the friendship between you two now? Stranger, occasional guests (with no access to the junk space), friends (with limited access) or really, really close friends – no access denied – junk removal permitted?
So, if you did, are you glad you answered the faint knocking?
If not – what are you waiting for?
– Selah (think on these things)
In Christ
