Nougat 5

Hey there

I pray you well. Please receive Today’s Holy Nougat.

“Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.”

Psalms 40:4 NLT

Where do we place our trust? Although the ready response is often God or Jesus Christ, far often our actions suggest otherwise. When we assess the relative time and energy which we invest in our spiritual life (Bible study, prayer and other spiritual disciplines) in relation to social media, cars/houses or even our careers and studies.

We often convince ourselves that we are responsible for the success and failure of our lives, and to some extent it is so. It is even more crucial that we recognize The true Source of our lives. For it is in Him we live, move and have our being. And when we focus on being in God’s presence, there is truly fullness of joy.

Our only other task then is to (re)learn how to trust God. To believe God is; and that God will keep that which God has committed. Unfortunately, there is no magic formula. For , tho trust must be earned, letting go of insecurities to allow God to be in total control – despite God having done everything time and again to show that God is trustworthy – is not always easy. Partly because we allow human hurts and experiences to determine our understanding and knowledge of God.

Might I suggest to myself and each of us, that we CHOOSE to trust God minute but minute until it becomes a habit and a natural aspect of our relationship with God. For it is then that we will find joy in God’s presence. It is then that our trust in God will grow and our dependence on ‘idols’.

How about starting today? Right now?

Lord, right now I choose to trust You. Help me to keep trusting You now and forgive my past unbelief. Thank You for Your grace dear Jesus. Amen
