“that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:7 NKJV
Seriously, we do realize that we cannot earn God’s grace eh. On it’s own, our own (self) righteousness does not cut it. So whether our motives are truly pure, or it is that we just prefer to live right; or we are ‘Christ-minded’; none of that is what secures our salvation in the bigger scheme of things. And that’s partly because our sense of self would probably have us thinking we are God (which we still do from time to time).
Moreover the chasm of some is so great it requires a once in a lifetime bridge of the atonement for ALL of us – at once. From someone who wholly gets God’s perspective and yet TOTALLY resonates with us humans. That’s not a natural option. Only One fit that description
Jesus
Whether we recognize His authority or not
Whether we acknowledge His divinity or not
Whether we understand His humanity or not
Whether we receive His Messianic status or not
Only Jesus
And with all He’s done; He also offers the Spirit of Truth to confirm His identity and affirm ours as heirs to Godly righteousness. That’s how we’re in. He’s our ticket to eternity with God.
This is not a fairy tale. Probably a love story. With Jesus Christ as the hero who rescues us messed up humans. From our selves. And from others whose mess seeps over into our lives.
And that’s why, even though we’d rather judge and condemn THOSE people out there who just can’t get it right; we shouldn’t. Because; in God’s sight, that’s how we all were – before Christ’s love brought us in.
One by painstaking one.
Choosing to judge or condemn another could be seen as rejection of Christ‘a act of love for us.
That’s heavy stuff.
Now I’ve gotta go release myself from those I’ve been judging
