Reverting to the first day we nibbled on this nougat, we will recall that we con-cluded that Chosenness is affiliated with the gifts/skills one possesses. Today’s Holy Nougat reminds us of Why we are Chosen, Royal, Holy, Possessions of the Almighty God through Jesus.
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 TLV
All that we are to God has little merit on this side of eternity, unless we are aware of our status. And, even then we are better served when others discern the same about themselves because of our testimony. What that means is that we Testify of God’s grace received in our lives.
‘What is this grace?’, you may ask. It’s the re-establishment of our identity Through the Blood of Jesus Christ shed so we could be legitimately be bought back into the family of God. Because we were born in sin (by virtue of our nature); there was a chasm between us and God. And having not been born physically physically as Jews, then we did not have access to the privileges and rights, more so the inheritance afforded God’s family members.
When we consciously accept Jesus as the Christ, we gain immediate, supernatural membership in the family of God. If we see this as occurring through adoption or by marriage; we are correct. For we are adopted into God’s family through our confession of faith; which gives us First-born privileges; and as the ‘Bride of Christ’; we are again brought into His family.
Now that’s praiseworthy! Have we been testifying of this miraculous transfor-mation to others and inviting them to a similar experience? For that’s the praise Peter refers to; it’s the transforming grace of which so many others sing. Who do we know or see who’s forgotten what their identity is?, someone needing a reminder of their status?
Since we have experienced this for our-selves, may our lives invite others to do/be likewise.
