When last have you had a “Remember when” moment? Only recently my cousins were all reminiscing about past family gatherings and laughing at the fun and craziness we enjoyed together. And more recently, I experienced another type of “Remember when” moment. I had a scene from the past on repeat in my head, as a personal reminder for a pressing situation I was addressing.
I wonder whether Today’s Holy Nougatâ„¢ was a Remember When moment for the disciples?
Then he climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were totally amazed,

Jesus entered the boat and everything was transformed. The creaking, groaning boards, boat, winds, waves, and even the disciples. That must have been a powerful moment! They all saw Jesus, all realized that all striving ceased – internally and externally. Perhaps they even shared the awesomeness of it all with their families later that day when they saw them.
I believe that while they waited in the Upper Room, this could have been one of the Remember When’s which would have bouyed their spirits. You know how it gets sometimes, you’re undergoing and when you begin to reminisce, you find your spirit lifting. While awaiting the Pentecostal anointing, this may have very well helped to keep the discouragement at bay.
What about you? Do you have a particular Jesus encounter, Holy Spirit moment or Godincident experience which you call upon to keep you going? When last were you in the storm with only Jesus to find you amidst the turmoil? Did you walk on water with Jesus, or were you cowering in the boat? (Just an aside, my friend and colleague Rev Gareth Irvin would remind us that Peter returned to the boat before reaching ashore – no shame being inside the boat.) More critically, did you remember to reminisce (i.e. Remember When) with someone else in one of those moments when life felt a little off kilter?
