Hi
What’s going on with you? Where would you locate yourself emotionally? In the palace, prison, furnace, or in exile? Would you believe that God’s got you, regardless? Seriously.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Finally, the king’s chief cup-bearer spoke up. “Today I have been reminded of my failure,” he told Pharaoh. Genesis 41:9 NLT
What if the king’s Cup-bearer had remembered to speak up on Joseph’s behalf? Would Joseph have been released and reinstated? Would Egypt be saved from famine?
What else might have happened in that prison while the Man of God remained there, on trumped up charges?
There are two other major prison stories recorded in the Bible, both in the Acts of the Apostles. Both stories offer additional insights on the Mighty Move of God during adversity. In the one, Peter was miraculously SPRUNG from jail, so much so that those who interceded on his behalf were in shock. And, in the other, Paul and Silas REMAINED in jail, thus preventing an act of suicide; and by virtue thereof, establishing the first Jailhouse Rock, when the jailer gave his life to God.
The Petrine jailbreak (Acts 12:5-11),
serves as a reminder that truly there is no place so far removed from God’s presence for our redemption in trying times. And the Pauline Praise-a-Thon (Acts 16:25-34), assures us that even the most difficult spaces offers us the opportunity to share God’s love and grace. Sometimes our presence in hellish spaces may be the difference between life and death for another! Literally.
So where are you located today?
In the palace? Praise God, you might be there to understudy the ones in power, or just as importantly, soothe the savage beast? Perhaps you’ve been called for such a time as this.
In exile? Grow where you’re planted, bear fruit and serve God like your life depended on it. It just might.
In the Lion’s Den? Watch to see God seal the mouth of the lion or protect you from the flames if you’re in the neighboring Fiery Furnace. Choose to bear witness to God’s saving grace.
In prison? Praise God anyway. For God’s got a plan, and in that prison lies your blessing – whether through jailbreak, eventual promotion, or through preaching. God makes it all beautiful in God’s time.
Let the praises ring! God’s got this! Glory hallelujah!
