Hi
Unfortunately, the world is such that we thrive on fear. Some of greatest income generating movies are horror movies. No matter the nightmares which may follow or the impact it may have on the psyche.
And it’s not only the movies. We can choose to watch or not. However the news headlines carry stories with spine chilling details quite regularly and it seems that amid the implicit warnings and gory details accompanying the feed; is the sensationalism of the danger. This often numbs us to the reality around us; sends us into daredevil mode (to star in our own reality show) or releases fear emotions that may result in cases of mistrust, fear and even xenophobia.
Not good.
We are not immune from nurturing fear in other. Sometimes we post some of the stats or stories; not to nurture fear, but to engender a response that mobilizes us to be change agents. And many children told ghost stories to scare siblings and friends. But when the nurturing of fear is repeatedly targeting others, causing psychological problems, that’s when we have taken things too far.
And that’s when we NEED the antidote! It’s offered in today’s Holy Nougat
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalms 23:4 NLT
Inasmuch as we are constantly exposed to images and situations that generate fear or we help to spread fear; so it is that we counter fear with the knowledge that our Lord is with us. Hard as it is to imagine, should we cry out, God’s peace can see us through. Those life diminishing experiences do not have to define us. Not at all! And we can share with others the assurance (born of experience) that God is with us. Ready to be our Protection detail or support through the ordeals.
There are some scenarios where others ignore God and persist in committing evil actions. And even when it takes some to death, God remains faithful.
Evil happens
Fear has been commodified
God’s support and presence are constant.

God bless you!
