“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
Philippians 4:6 NLT
About everything let us pray
In sunshine and in rain; when the blessings seem to have lost their way; for lost things; for found things; there’s always gotta be something; at work; while at play; there’s a thousand good and bad reasons to pray; pray with thanksgiving; for the blessings; pray for love towards the source of ‘cursings; pray for love; and joy; and laughter; pray in hope (or confidence) to live with God ever after; at school; and in the field; pray when we’ve lost the ability to heal; when we’re lonely; or in a crowd; pray in silence; or pray out Loud; pray in sickness; and in pain; pray time and time again; about this life; about the rage; burning within; the source of shame; about the love only you know about; pray to remove even a shadow of doubt; about decisions great and small; pray to hear God’s voice through it all; in the library; while at church; pray as if everything is in the lurch; on social media; walk, ride or drive; of only to thank God that we’re alive; amidst the sorrow; worrying about tomorrow; I guarantee God’s good to turn to; when the tides are high and the debts are low; pray even when we can barely go; whether our teeth have left us long ago; or braces are the only way to go; at the doctors; or the store; pray for wisdom more and more; in times of love; in seasons of trouble; pray and praise God; make it a double; when others backbite; and things get tight; pray when our days have long turned nights; on the ward; e’en at the morgue; my peeps let us turn to God; while doing the dishes; or the laundry; we can pray for all and sundry; for the ‘Joneses’; for the hungry; for the lost; and the ‘unlovely’; for the sick and for the dying; for the hurting; for those always-lying; about injustice; and those are plenty; that God will extend justice and mercy; for forgiveness when we’ve sinned; against self; others; God; even the simplest things; with passion; with joy; for all gifts from the Lord; the unexpected; the unwanted; the lovely; or the thwarted; even if we can’t think of what else to say; start from Z down to A; there’s more left to pray; at all times; in all places; in tight or happy spaces; when exalted or depressed; especially when we’re feeling our best; whether we win; or even if we lose; or when we feel we’ve got nothing to prove; when we’ve picked the short straw; or when surprise has lowered our jaw; pray in earnest; or in thankfulness; prayer is a bit more than our faithfulness; in supplication or in doubt; pray even to turn our lives about; whether morning; noon; or night; prayer will turn our souls aright.
Let’s pray …
In Christ’s love and grace
