Giants blocking our path recently? Today’s Holy Nougat has the antidote. Chew slowly
“The seventh time around, as the priests sounded the long blast on their horns, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the town!”

They were exceptionally close to ending their journey except they had to get past Jericho. Rather than have them fight once again on the defensive, the children of Israel were led on the Offensive by God’s Spirot. It was transformative! For, rather than cower at the ‘giants’ they had feared for some time; the children of Israel contained them.
Please note, Jericho wasn’t actually the land of the giants (children of Analek), but it was on the outer boundaries. Based on research findings, Jericho’s walls were not containing a large city within, but it was enough to reassure everyone of God’s presence and protection.
The strategy was simple – walk in silence then shout hallelujah for their victory was nigh. (I told my pastor recently that I am not sure silence would be my portion, but it is easier when properly motivated.) Six silent days circling the problem Once; followed by Six silent trips aroun the problem; then a Seventh triumphant trip! A strange plan.
Except God was in the plan- their treks were preceded by symbols of God’s presence: Ark, priests and even the ram’s horns (shofar)! God was definitely part of that plan!
Now let’s fast track to our situation – (when) do we seek godly counsel in destroying our problems? And how often do we invite God’s presence to go ahead of us?
Additionally, if Jericho was as small as evidence indicates, there is an even more potent lesson for each of us. No problem is too small or insignificant for God’s oversight and intervention. That’s blessed reassurance! That is reason to shout! Victory dance! Celebrate
