Singing glory glory! Hallelujah! Amen. Hello. No matter what you’re undergoing, remember that you WILL overcome in Jesus Christ.
Here’s today’s nougat
Forgive our sins as we forgive who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation. Luke 11.4
Forgivenes (afihimi in Greek) indicates departure from/divorcing/omitting/putting away … in short we ask God to divorce us from our sins; to omit or sins from our records. But in most versions, the forgiveness of our sins from God is connected, even contingent upon our willingness to divorce the indebtedness from others around us.
Now that IS a game changer.
For when we pray, our receipt of grace has become dependent on our willingness to extend grace. Ouch. I don’t always want to divorce someone’s offence from the person. Especially when it hurt. Or was unfair. Although I really wish that my many offences were divorced from me.
Could there be a little Cain lurking within?
Forgive us as/Forgive us because/Forgive us for … We forgive
Can we really pray like that?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
