Hello my dears
Blessed greetings to you and yours. Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 ASV
Today, the play of opposites is very clear to me. In the King’s City the World Boss is born. But he was on the very fringes of that society – not in the palace, not even in a nice mansion; no, not at all. As Savior of this world, the legitimate multi-great grandson of King David (the greatest Jewish king), and heir apparent – prophesied by saints and angels alike – He was born under dictatorship.
Legitimate though He be, there are those who could readily argue that he was Joseph’s illegitimate son. Rather than a diplomatic envoy laden with gifts, He was announced by angelic hosts to shepherds who had naught to offer Him. To ordinary, smelly, ‘invisible’ people.
He came unto His own; the rich and royal, the ignoble and ignored. As a babe – vulnerable, helpless and susceptible to violence and diseases – yet, the most powerful man in the world. Come in human form, yet ready to be born in each and every heart.
No matter the circumstances of our situation, Christ’s birth offers hope and new life to all. December 25, or some other day; it matters not; regardless of what the world celebrates, the Savior is born. Question is, has He been born in our hearts?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
