Have you ever found that in the process of actually preparing to worship the Lord, you get sidetracked? And instead of the glory being given to God, the spotlight shifts to self, or someone/something else?
How about being in a worship session where it feels “hollow”? Recently, I visited a worship space where I was bowled over by the indifference to preparation for being in the presence of the Most High God. And when the singing finally began! It felt as though we’d all forgotten WHY and WHOM we were there to worship.
And then the ‘real’ worship leader helped us place things in perspective
Think back on all we’ve encountered in recent times
Acknowledge that we had no way of providing for ourselves or rescuing ourselves.
Recognize that it is God whose mercy continues to keep us
Bless the Lord for provision, care and keep
Praise our way past our season of brokenness
Praise God for what God is about to do
Praise God even if we’re the only one praising

Remenber that the angels and saints around the throne are busy praising God
Practice for when we get to heaven
