How was your weekend? Perhaps today’s Holy Nougat will chase the Monday morning blahs away
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” Romans 12:18 KJV
– Peaceable living possibilities lie within me!
– I am responsible for my own peace agenda
– With God’s Spirit, I am a peace broker
These affirmations are not suggesting that there won’t be issues or circumstances which seem to be customized to rattle us. Not at all. Rather, they ought to be internalized to the extent that we KNOW the way around them. For, in CHOOSING Peace, we have opted for the Way of the Cross.
Yes. The Way of the Cross. A life of costly grace, especially in the face of betrayal, violence and/or aggression. The one that fights with forgiveness and favor; confronting fear with the love of God. That moves us beyond self to understanding anew God’s ways which triumph over scare tactics or brute force.
And there will be times when the Way of Peace isn’t feasible. Or, we have not mastered yielding to God completely. (I am definitely confident the latter happens a lot more with some of us). But that is when YIELDING to God becomes our utmost priority. For though peaceful possibilities lie within; it is the Spirit of God Who prompts us to live at peace in our world.
May God’s Spirit imbue us with divine peace today.
